A super day spent with Abi & Adam in Staffordshire with the wedding ceremony by Croxden Abbey, reception at the Three Horsehoes Blackshaw Moor, and the perfect sunset wedding shoot atop The Roaches made for a spectacular finale to the run of summer weddings for Matt Collis wedding photographer.
Abi and Adam chose wedding shoot locations of cinematic proportion to capture their memories of the big day, and the weather was on our side to make each location work to perfection.
The highlight of our adventure being a big climb up to the highest point of the famous Roaches rock outcrop to catch a glorious September Sunset.
Hazel & Leon held their wedding at the stunning and flawlessly stylish Carriage Hall near Plumtree in Nottinghamshire. This tastefully converted Railway building provided the backdrop to an equally tasteful wedding day where every detail had been lovingly designed and crafted by the bride (a fashion designer herself) to a standard which put the unique and inspirational icing on this magical day.
It was a privilege to photograph such an important day and the bride and groom went out of their way to make every one of their guests and myself relaxed, comfortable and welcome.
Wedding photography should without exception convey the atmosphere, emotions and personal touches of the day which can never be replicated or repeated again. On a day like this the opportunities were everywhere, and I was spoilt with an abundance of moments to capture.
I love to photograph weddings at The Peak Edge which as it name suggest is situated wonderfully at the gateway to the stunning Derbyshire Peak District.
This venue never fails to deliver a superb combination of contemporary food and accommodation fused with the traditional feel of an old English Pub positioned on beautiful moorland offering stunning views and breathtaking sunsets.
Wedding photography often poses challenges based upon the weather, the light, the situation of buildings rooms and people, but the layout, spaces and qualities of the Peak Edge lend themselves to relaxed and natural opportunities for a huge range of photographic diversity.
Lauren & Richard had both their wedding ceremony and reception at the hotel and so the day ran seamlessly from exciting beginning to
Amalfi White in the stylish village of Melbourne near Derby was the perfect wedding venue for Pamela & Steve. The ceremony took place basking in the wonderful natural light of the first floor at this historical and much loved building.
After the ceremony we took a stroll around Melbourne for a romantic and informal private shoot which was super relaxed at a location which never fails to provide not only stunning and easily accessible scenery, but also an atmosphere of calm and tranquility.
Following the first class food served at the wedding breakfast it was then time for the evenings entertainment to commence to round off this wonderfully intimate wedding.
Tina & Peter celebrated their big day in the best place possible. As we all know ‘Home is where the heart is’ and this was literally a house full of love on this gorgeous sunny summers day. The bride & groom went to great length to create a quintessential English garden party atmosphere, and I can honestly say that of all the weddings I have photographed this one ranks as having one of the best soulful atmospheres I have experienced to date.
Nikki & Ian and their beautiful border collie held their dream wedding at the fairy tale setting of Rockingham Castle with its beautiful Romeo and Juliet balcony. The day unfolded wonderfully for this couple and Ians’ love of military history was treated to a reenactment group who were at the castle for a tournament giving the bride and groom their very own battle to take part in.
You never ever know what may happen when your day at the office as a wedding photographer begins.
What a beautiful spring Day for this exciting and atmospheric wedding photographed at the Stunning spaces of the Lowry in Manchester. Lyndsey & David celebrated both their ceremony and reception accompanied by beautiful music from a string quartet, and a surprise for the bride of the first dance being to a specially recorded acoustic version of her favorite song from Jamie Lawson.
Such a romantic and individual wedding present from David which only added to this perfect Manchester wedding.
